Permanent make up in Hawaii
Permanent makeup is micro pigment implementation - a process involving the application of pigment (natural iron oxide pigment) into the dermal layer of the skin. A sterilized single use needle is used to implant hundreds of tiny dots of the pigment beneath the basal layer of the skin. The right shade is chosen to suit the complexion of each person. Permanent cosmetics procedures are performed using various methods, including the traditional tattoo or coil machines, the pen or rotary machine and the non-machine or hand method. The process includes an initial consultation, then application of pigment, and at least one or more follow up visits for adjusting the shape and color or density of the pigment. It is important to understand that "Permanent Make up" is actually semi permanent. Each procedure will be performed 2-3 times before the desired effect is achieved. Depending on each individual the pigment may last for several years, however it is recommend that you "touch up" every year to avoid complete fade out and having to recreate the initial shape. When you hear of individuals that may have had their eyebrows tattooed once many years ago their technician most likely used ink. Ink is responsible for the green blue or eggplant colors, often they may have a halo around the shape. Why? Ink changes color over time and has a tendency to migrate through the skin leaving a halo of slight color or color in unwanted areas. There are many different procedures available. The most frequently requested procedures are eyebrows, eyeliner and lip color. It is not unusual to receive all three procedures at one time. These procedures take anywhere from 1.5 - 2 hours including preparation. Prior to each procedure, I conduct a private consultation where we discuss the various techniques available along with color and a shape that is created for each specific client. Permanent makeup has become exceedingly popular in the last five to ten years. There have been several improvements made within the world of permanent makeup, more creativity, pigments as opposed to ink and improved numbing capabilities.
